Ron Greene’s Only in America is a local origin talk show that will aim to provide a common sense perspective on political issues that are critical in determining the direction and future of the United States.  Only in America is not just a political talk show, as it will also feature the 71-year old Greene sharing the personal development, motivation, and leadership tips that helped him put together a career that has spanned nearly a half-century in coaching and education.  Greene was the 1978 SEC Coach of the Year at Mississippi State, and he returned to his alma mater, Murray State, to win two OVC Coach of the Year awards with the Racers and build the foundation for the tremendously successful program that has become the jewel of the Ohio Valley Conference over the last 30 years.  Ron Greene has been a leader his entire life, and his career has been about helping people reach their potential as individuals and in groups, and area listeners will be in position to benefit on a life-changing level as they listen to the wisdom Greene has accumulated in navigating the highs and lows that come with a career in competitive athletics.

Greene has been married to his wife, Ailene, for 47 years, and the couple raised five college graduates that have gone on to enjoy their own very successful careers.  Those five children have given Greene 12 grandchildren, and it is his intense love for his family that drives him as an intense and stunningly astute political observer.  He is motivated to see the country he adores move in the right direction to ensure a glorious future for his children and grandchildren.  Greene will also be able to draw on his life experience as a husband, father, and grandfather to identify with and relate to his listening audience.  His opinions are strong and his conviction is unwavering, and Greene’s considerable presence will be evident whether he is weighing in on political current events or dispensing advice to help his audience find their path to greater personal and professional achievement.

Ron Greene’s Only in America may well provide a forum for local politics from time to time, but it will not be in the habit of critiquing or harshly criticizing local government or its officials.  The show may also provide a platform for the discussion of state politics when the occasion calls for it, and it will hope to enhance that discussion with the interview of prominent state officials and/or candidates that serve the state in Frankfort or in Washington, D.C.   Local guests may be part of the fabric of the show at some point, utilized to provide local perspective on discussion topics, and the show will absolutely look to use the feedback of its audience either through email or texts.   Only in America will begin its run on 1340 WNBS at 12 PM on August 2, 2010.  The show will be taped prior to its noon broadcast slot, and it will run on Monday every week.
