    Free health screenings will be offered Tuesday, July 15 from 6-11 a.m. at the MCCH Center for Health and Wellness. Screenings offered will include blood pressure, BMI, waist circumference, osteoporosis heel scan and blood sugar (finger stick). To schedule an appointment, call (270) 762-1348.

    Thursday, July 17 from 8-11 a.m. during a Health Fair at the Weaks Senior Citizen Center, 607 Poplar Street, Murray – Many free screenings will be offered, including blood draw for lipids, glucose and PSA (12-hr fast required for blood draw, drinking water is okay).

    A free Q&A session on Dementia and Alzheimer’s will be held Thursday, July 24 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Educational Services Building located at the corner of Elm and South Eighth streets. The panel will include a behavioral neurologist with a specialty in dementia, family care specialist with expert caregiver advice, and community outreach coordinator at the Alzheimer’s Association.     A free nutrition education event titled “Alcohol 101” will be held Friday, July 25 from 9-9:30 a.m. in the Center for Health and Wellness. No, this isn’t a lecture. Join Rebecca Wright, Registered Dietitian, for a look at how you can responsibly enjoy some of your favorite summer-time beverages.

    The Mental Illness (NAMI) Support Group for families and friends of persons suffering from mental illness will meet Thursday, July 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the MCCH Educational Services Building located on the corner of 8th and Elm streets. For more information, call 270-748-6133.
